People use the internet for a lot of reasons. Most businesses these days have a social media presence. If they do not, they are probably not very successful businesses. It is hard to succeed in this day and age without, at the very least, one social media account.
If you tell people that you don’t use social media at all, they will look at you like you are a time traveler from the 1990s.
The internet is great for a ton of reasons. It can be depressing, though. There is a lot of news out there that is sort of sad to read. However, there is a lot on the internet that is uplifting and will put a smile on your face.
In order to put a smile on your face, here are thirteen heartwarming images. If you are having a bad day, they will make you feel a little better.
1. The Cashier and the Little Kid
According to the Reddit user who posted this particular image, who goes by double_dipped_chip, the kid in this picture was having a “meltdown”. I don’t know exactly how bad the so-called meltdown was, but apparently the little guy was screaming.
However, he certainly seems to be enjoying himself in this picture. He is having a lot of fun pounding away at that keyboard. Kids definitely love to do that. This employee deserves to be commended for exceptional customer service.
This is a Lowe’s store, and Lowe’s is a pretty cool company. It has been around since 1946, and there are well over 2,000 stores. Almost 300,000 people work for the company. It is headquartered in North Carolina, and there are stores in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
It is one of the larger hardware chains in the United States; only The Home Depot is larger.
2. The Turtle and the Fence
A turtle managed to get itself trapped under a fence. That happens, I suppose.
The heartwarming thing is that several people are working together to free it. You would not expect that, but there is proof that it happened. Hopefully, the little thing got free. I am not sure why the people are using sticks, though. Are they afraid of the turtle? In general, there is no reason to be afraid of a turtle.
A lot of people keep turtles as pets. They are, after all, kind of interesting to watch. They are also pretty low-maintenance when it comes to pets.
Turtles can also live a surprisingly long time. For example, the common snapping turtle can live for over 100 years. They are also a common ingredient in turtle soup, which originated in China and Singapore, but is also consumed in Japan and the United States.
Turtle soup was apparently the favorite food of United States President Howard Taft, who served as president from 1909 to 1913. Taft is probably best known for being obese, but historians consider him a relatively decent president.
3. The Patient and the Chemotherapy
This guy apparently got cancer, which is awful. He was treated with chemotherapy, which makes sense. Therefore, he lost his hair. That tends to happen. People undergoing chemotherapy tend to lose hair all over their body.
The good news is that the guy got better, which does not always happen. The final picture looks great, though. He’s happy, and he has his hair back. We can only hope that he stayed healthy. It looks like he has people who love and support him, which is great.
Cancer, really, is actually a group of diseases; there are over 100 types of cancer. Tobacco use is one of the leading causes of cancer. Other causes include excessive alcohol use, poor diet, and obesity. Too much time spent in the sun can also lead to cancer. Millions of people die every year as a result of cancer, and the risk of cancer increases with age.
4. The Carpenter Bees
A lot of people are afraid of bees, and in general they probably should not be. People tend to overreact to the presence of bees. For one, bees are pretty important to the planet on which we live, and people have been keeping them for thousands of years.
There are almost 20,000 species of bees, and they can be found on every continent—except for Antarctica.
It is true that interacting with a carpenter bee is generally pretty harmless. Bee stings can be a pretty serious matter, though. For most people, a bee sting is more or less harmless. It is painful, but that is about it. If a person is allergic, though, a bee sting can be deadly.
5. The Water and the Monkey
The man in this image was nice enough to share his water with a monkey; I am assuming it was a hot day, and the monkey was very thirsty.
It would be nice to think that the guy got a hug from his new monkey friend. That probably did not happen, but it is nice to think that it did.
A lot of people, myself included, would love having a pet monkey. They really don’t make great pets, though. It sounds like a lot of fun, but they can be pretty dangerous animals.
One of the more famous pet monkeys in fiction is, of course, Abu. He is the pet monkey of the main character in the popular 1992 film “Aladdin.” That was a great movie, and a live-action adaptation is in the works. It should be released in May of 2019. It is being directed by Guy Ritchie. The popularity of the original film resulted in a
couple of sequels as well as a couple of television shows.
Another famous pet monkey, of course, is Curious George. He has been entertaining people, believe it or not, since 1939. There have been several films about Curious George, which should not surprise anybody. However, there was also a videogame. It was based on the 2006 film. It was a platform game, and it was released for a few systems, including the XBOX and Nintendo GameCube. According to people who review video games for a living, it was sort of average. Still, though, it might be worth checking out.
6. The Jewelry and the Library
For reasons that can’t be explained, unless you truly believe in the kindness of strangers, someone just decided to drop off handmade jewelry at the library.
It seems like a strange thing to donate, and it also seems like a strange place to make a donation, but you just know that someone’s day was made a lot better by this gift. You have to wonder why the generous person chose that particular shelf, though, don’t you?
It is possible, I suppose, that the person who made the donation is a fan of Patricia Wentworth, who is well known for her crime fiction. Many of us remember Miss Silver, who was featured in over 30 books.
7. The Loving Notes
According to a person who goes by kingoftheplastics on Reddit, that person’s fiancée leaves loving notes on the door. That fiancée apparently leaves for work earlier than the poster.
It must be nice to wake up and see notes written by someone who genuinely loves you. Not many people have that. The poster is indeed a very lucky person.
8. The Party For the Parents
A Reddit user named MicrobeBrew posted this picture. It is of poster’s parents. Apparently, an anniversary party was thrown, and this was their reaction to the party. There were people at the party who they had not seen in decades. They look so happy. I wish I personally knew those people.
You know what’s truly uplifting about this image, though? I just love the idea that people can still stay married for 50 years. That does not seem to happen too often anymore, does it? Marriage is treated as a disposable thing by a lot of people, and that is a shame.
I hope that the party was a true success.
9. The Guy Doing the Shopping
Once in a while, we are all forced to buy something at a store that we feel uncomfortable buying. It is just an embarrassing purchase, and you can’t help it. The cashier gives you a weird look. They try not to, but they can’t help it. You can’t blame them.
Anyway, in this case, a guy had to buy feminine hygiene products for his granddaughter, which is sort of awkward.
He apparently didn’t know exactly what to buy, which is totally understandable.
He sought the help of a stranger in the store, and she was perfectly willing to help. That is just adorable.
10. The Baby and the Bunnies
Kids can be a chore, but they can also remind you that the world probably is not as bad as you think. Little kids are generally pretty kind. It is kind of hard to wrap your mind around how things can go so terribly wrong.
In this case, the kid is trying to help a statue of a bunny, which is both sweet and adorable. It is kind of sad to think that there is no possible way he could actually help the statue, but it is nonetheless sweet.
I like to think that this little boy will turn out to be a really nice human being.
11. The Free Compliments
Apparently, there are nice people in the world. There are people out there who just want to do things to make the lives of others better. This poster is an example of that.
I don’t know if I have ever met a person like that, but it is nice to think that they are out there.
I love the compliments, too. Who wouldn’t like to be told they have gorgeous eyes? I would also like to be told that I am a great dancer, although that would be a total lie. Also, my smile does not light up a room. I wish it did!
12. The Pug That Got Arrested
Apparently, the police department of Cape May, New Jersey will arrest anyone and anything. Those law enforcement officers do not care how cute the suspect is; also, this may be the cutest little criminal I have ever seen.
This dog was allegedly caught sneaking around backyards after escaping from its home. There were no real crimes being committed, so law enforcement officers decided to “arrest” the pup and take this adorable photo.
It is kind of nice to think that Cape May is such a peaceful town that they had time to do this. Also, it should be noted that the dog did end up being reunited with its owners.
