Evgeniya Terzieva Wise men say that you only appreciate something when it’s gone and we guess that is nothing but the truth. We understand the true value of something when we lost it, which is a shame, really. The images below suggest such moments. They give either a comparison or a perspective of what it would be like when the things we take for granted are no more.
1. The letters
Here is something rather simple that makes a big difference. We all know the meaning of a certain word until you remove a letter from it. Then, it becomes a lot harder to decode, and people surely took a second to read this.
2. The screw
Screws are a vital part of our lives even if they remain unnoticed. There are hundreds of billions of screws everywhere but just imagine if they lose their thread, like the one in the picture above. They would become worthless.
3. The alphabet
Now, this is one of those things that we always wondered about. Why make such an effort if you are about to allow a huge mistake? In this case, they simply forgot to include the letter M and the whole just does not look right.
4. The flash drive
Most of us use these tiny devices daily and we are used to their versatility. Still, once you break one like the person above did, you begin to appreciate just how fragile these devices can be. It seems that we need to be more careful with these.
5. The socks
Even a simple logo can make a huge difference. This pair of socks looks odd because the letters on the right one are almost completely gone. The sock looks a lot different and you could wonder what it was supposed to say if the other one was not visible.
6. The cake
We have all seen and tasted cakes made by order for some special occasion. Needless to say, the most important part of the case is always the message it is supposed to bring. This is why this cake looks odd – there is no message for someone to read and appreciate.
7. The filling
Now, this is the kind of thing that could frustrate every person who loves food more than anything. This creme-filled donut has absolutely no creme inside which is a huge no-no. They must have missed filling this one but we hope it doesn’t happen again.
8. The puzzle
There is nothing like taking the time to put together a puzzle. The more complicated it is, the better, right? We think puzzles are among the best leisure activities out there but they need to be perfect in order to bring satisfaction. This one is not, as it is missing a piece.
9. The can
There is nothing wrong with this can at first but when you take a closer look, you will see that it is missing the detail that makes it stand out from the rest. The bull above the Red Bull lettering is gone and they probably had a hiccup with the printing machine.
10. The front end
Now, this is something you don’t see every day! Someone decided that it was okay to drive around with a completely missing front end of their vehicle. Even the battery tray was gone so they had to strap it in place. This is just plain bonkers!
11. The trombone
This is something quite yucky and we guess that it happens when you never clean the trombone you use frequently. This person neglected that for seven years straight and this is what happened when they finally gave it a clean.
12. The Band-Aid
Here is what a mistake in fabrication looks like. The Band-Aid you see is missing its most important part – the piece that actually heals the wound. We guess that it makes it pretty much useless.
13. The Nutri-Grain bar
Well, here is something that never happened to us so far. This person noticed that their bar tasted different and they soon realized why. They forgot to add the fruit filling that it was supposed to have and it was 100% grain, which is not that bad, too.
14. The candy corn
Here is one curious comparison image. We all know what candy corn is but the defect featured in this image makes that name stand out and gives it a literal meaning. The bigger piece is quite different from the other.
15. The T-shirt
It appears that the effort to make such a wonderful arrangement to decorate a T-shirt has gone to waste because of the wrong colors used. As you can see, this piece of clothing features yellow characters which is nothing but incorrect.
16. The bag
Here is yet another common thing that is not the same as we are used to seeing it. This Doritos bag of chips is sealed in an entirely different manner and we believe that most people would be puzzled to see it like that.
17. The gas station

Here is one really weird sight. We are all used to seeing gas stations with those big roof structures on top but this one is missing it. We guess they were in the process of reconstruction here.
18. The candy piece
Now, this is something one could never expect to see. This is an M&M and you can tell that it looks a lot different than what we are used to seeing. Something must have gone wrong with the glazing machine.
19. The phone
Using a phone without its case is hard and you can tell that this person is struggling with it. Smartphones are useless without their shells but older phones worked even without one because they had traditional keyboards.
