One of the heroes that saved numerous lives during the attacks was Roselle, a Labrador Retriever, was only 3 years old when the 9/11 events took place. She was in the World Trade Center on the 78th floor of the Tower 1. The guide dog managed to lead her blind owner, Michael Hudson, through the smoke and the uproar to safety. Not only that, but Roselle also managed to save 30 other people’s lives leading them 1,463 steps down through the massive confusion, the flying debris and the collapsing building. The dog and her owner appeared on several TV shows. Mr. Hudson explained that Roselle led him straight to their home and started playing around as if she hadn’t just saved the day for dozens of people.

Roselle died in 2011 at the age of 13.
