Back in 2008 a 36-year-old woman from New Zealand named Natalie Sisson had a successful career in London, UK as a marketing executive. At one point she became very frustrated with her mundane corporate life in London, so she decided she needed to make a big change. Ms. Sisson left her job despite her promotion and her recent investment in a permanent residence.
She hopped on a plane to Vancouver, Canada where she attended a local business networking conference and met amazing like-minded people. Sisson was fascinated with the fact there were very few women were working in the digital technology field, so she decided to launch her very own app called “FundRazr” and a blog in which she shared her experience.
Eventually, her online campaign became successful and Sisson has been traveling around the world, sharing her experience ever since. She has been to 66 countries, has 4 separate online bank accounts and 17 SIM cards from all over the world. She doesn’t have a permanent residence and claims that wherever her suitcase is that’s home. She identifies herself as a new type of online worker called “digital nomad” which perfectly suits her lifestyle.
Ms. Sisson works between 20 and 60 hours per week and ultimately earns a 6 figure amount.
