Alain Robert born in 1962 in Digoin, France is one of the most popular rock and urban climber the world has ever seen. His nickname is the “French Spiderman” earned for his outstanding ability to climb, often without using any safety harnesses but just a small bag of chalk and a pair of custom made climbing shoes.
His ultimate hobby is to travel around the world and climb the most significant and iconic man made structures. Usually, he picks his targets and begins climbing at the break of dawn. Authorities would not normally allow him to climb on public properties and Alain has often been arrested at the end of his climbs.
Among one of the most significant accomplishments of Alain Robert is the infamous climb of the 614 feet tall building where the French oil company Total was headquartered. Alain then made the climb truly spectacular by wearing a full body costume of Spiderman.
The 51-year-old French Spiderman has been climbing the tallest buildings in the world for decades and has conquered the Empire State Building, the Willis Tower in Chicago as well as the Eiffel Tower and the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur.
