This case will surely make you think twice next time you’re about to flush your toilet. The incident left Michael Pierre with multiple wounds and injuries just because he decided to perform a daily routine.
The company which is in charge of the 16-story building, reported that the water had been turned off. Pierre decided to check if the toilet was working later that same evening. However, there was no way he could have predicted the high pressure, which had formed in the pipes. And that’s how the toilet exploded right in his face seconds after he pulled the water handle. He had several injuries on his arms and needed 30 stitches in order to close his shrapnel wounds. The 58 year old IT specialist experienced an incident which left him scarred for life.
However, his life-lasting scars aren’t physical. Pierre told the media and the owners of the building that he had faced severe mental trauma. He’s scared to pull the water handle ever again. In order to keep his toilet clean, he’s using a long rope, which allows him to flush the toilet from a distance – like staying just outside the bathroom’s doorstep.
