We’ve all heard of the phrase “Cuban Heel,” but a new initiative by the Cuban government may make the Communist country better known for another part of the body. Not content with increasing the height of its citizens with the stacked footwear for which the island is historically famous, male inhabitants of Cuba now have a chance of enhancing their natural attributes in a less talked about area.
Free implants are offered in seven Cuban provinces, initially to those over 40 or with diabetes or circulation problems, whose issues “do not respond positively to traditional treatments,” according to urologist Juan Carlos Yip. The programme, described by Yip as normally “exclusive to first world countries and at a high cost,” will later become available across the island.
