Ming-Na Wen is a 50-year-old American actress who was born in Macau. Ming moved to the United States with her family when she was a child and settled first in Harlem, New York and later in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her family opened a Chinese restaurant in the Chinatown district of Pittsburgh and the places still exists. Ming used to work there during her high school years.
Ming studied Drama in the Carnegie Mellon University and later started appearing in TV roles. In the late 1980′ she had a had main part in the soap opera ‘As The World Turns’. Since the early 1990′ Ming has appeared in a number of both movie and television productions. One of her most acclaimed roles is actually a voice-over for the title character in the 1998 animated Disney movie ‘Mulan’. Ming is also popular for her portrayal of Dr. Deb Chen in the medical drama series ‘ER’. Currently, she stars in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’, an action drama series where Ming portrays The Cavalry.
