The Chocolate River in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory was made from real chocolate!
The famous “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” from 1971 is probably every child’s dream. Endless amounts of chocolate and candy, magical factory workers and one ridiculously funny guide – Willy Wonka himself! It’s a pity the factory is a fictional place.
Despite that, the actual chocolate river was indeed made of real chocolate, water and cream. A chocolate river, running through a chocolate factory. Sounds unbelievably delicious, doesn’t it? But don’t get too excited! The whole mixture got quickly spoiled because of the cream in it. And because of the spoiling, it started to smell seriously disgusting.
The flowing chocolate river doesn’t sound so dreamy now, does it? Well, imagine what the actors and the cast were going through while they were filming the scenes around the river! It must have been incredibly difficult for them, trying to perform to the best of their abilities while feeling nauseated due to the stench of their surroundings!
