In order to prove that shelter dogs aren’t foolish and they make great pets, trainer Mark Vette trained the animals to drive a car. And by drive, I really mean drive. They learned how to navigate the steering wheel, start the key, use the pedals… and as if that isn’t enough pressure for an animal, they had to do a driving test on national live TV!
Ginny, a 1-year-old Bearded Whippet cross, Monty, an 18-month-old Giant Schnauzer and Porter, a 10-month-old Bearded Collie cross all entered the two month driving class. However, Ginny was left out of the live TV test, while the other two passed the test in specially modified cars.
After this phenomenon the three dogs became an Internet sensation. According to the SPCA’s CEO potential adoptees showed great interest in Porter and Monty after the driving test, although Ginny didn’t get much time in the spotlight.
Since you already know that a dog can learn how to drive a car, how about you stop moping around your driving exams and get a grip?
