Life can be hard at times. It can definitely seem unfair. You have to wonder once in a while if the universe is out to get you. That’s why the anti-depressant industry is valued at more than $10 billion. Prescription medicine is a great way of dealing with the sadness life offers up.
Sometimes, though, life throws you a lemon, but it also turns that lemon into delicious lemonade for you. You might have to make the lemons into lemonade yourself, but sometimes the universe really gives you a gift.
1. Donuts at Work
First of all, if the rule of the workplace is “you have to bring donuts if you are late”, you are working at a really great company and should be truly grateful for your job. A lot of people get fired if they’re even a couple minutes late to work. Companies—especially larger ones—tend to be a bit rigid when it comes to clocking in and clocking out.
Second of all, the donuts look delicious. They appear to be from Tim Hortons, which is known for their coffee and their donuts. The company was founded back in 1964 by a hockey player named Tim Horton. There are over 4,000 Tim Hortons in nine countries.
2. The Lady Who Decorated Her Ankle Monitor
If you are wearing an ankle monitor, life probably is not going as well as you would like. House arrest is not fun.
However, one should always try to find a way to make the best of a truly bad situation. The young lady in this image did just that by making her ankle monitor a stylish accessory. It really does look pretty cool—right?
You have to wonder what the woman in the image is being monitored for, though. Are there laws out there about being too stylish?
Her shoes are pretty cool, too.
3. The Person Who Made A Box of Wine Into a Backpack
A lot of people like wine. If you offer wine to people, you tend to make friends. Boxed wine was terrible ten years ago, but it has gotten a lot better.
The person in this image is probably one of the more popular people in the neighborhood, and she never has to go without wine. Sad as it may be, sometimes you need a glass or two of wine with lunch. Sometimes the people around you also need a glass, and everybody loves the person that offers them free wine.
4. The Guy Drinking Less
Many people have been there. You tend to drink a little bit more than you should, and all of the sudden people tell you that you have a problem. Your friends and family beg you to drink less.
This guy, technically, is drinking less. His friends and family probably should have been a lot more specific.
Alcoholism isn’t really a laughing matter, of course, and it costs thousands of people their lives every year. Cirrhosis of the liver does not sound like a fun experience.
The image is still pretty funny, though. If the guy is clever enough to make such a hilarious joke, he is probably doing just fine.
5. The Person Who Made a Jacket For a Dog
People love their pets in ways that sort of defy reason. They may be animals and technically our property—we literally own them—but a lot of people prefer their pets to most of their human relatives.
The dog in this image is clearly owned by a person who loves him or her very much. If you give up your coat because you are worried that your dog might be cold, you are a true animal lover.
6. The Woman That Made This
The hand in the image above clearly belongs to a woman who is a genius. There can be no debate. Trying to eat on the go is always a challenge, but she found a way to carry both her food and her beverage with one hand.
7. The Lady Who Was Stuck In Traffic
If you have ever lived in Los Angeles, you know how bad traffic can get on the freeways. Sometimes it takes you two hours to travel five miles. Sometimes you are stuck for a half-hour at a time. Vehicles just are not moving.
In such a situation, there are only a few things to do. You could update your social media profiles using your smartphone, of course; you were probably already doing that while you were driving, though. You could listen to the radio, sure, but you’ve probably already heard all of the songs recently.
Have you considered getting a tan? Apparently one woman decided to take the unfortunate traffic situation as an opportunity to sunbathe. She looks pretty comfortable, too.
I myself would worry about getting run over when traffic cleared, but this woman clearly has a lot of courage.
8. The People With The Sonogram Picture
The child in the sonogram picture, obviously, was a happy little accident. A lot of children are. At least the parent who posted this has a great sense of humor about himself or herself and the situation. Hopefully, the parents are doing well!
It is sort of strange that the parents knows who Bob Ross is, though, and also owns a book about Bob Ross. He died over 20 years ago, after all.
In case you’re not familiar with the name, Bob Ross was an American painter and television host. He was something of a public-television personality in the United States. Recently, for reasons that are sort of unclear, he has become an internet celebrity. He has actually been referenced on “Family Guy”.
At one point, his business was worth $15 million. His show ran from 1983 to 1994; reruns of the show aired for many years after that.
Bob Ross died in July of 1995 after a battle with lymphoma. He was a private person, and few outside of his social circle knew he had been diagnosed with the illness until his death. He was only 52 years old when he perished.
9. The Person Who Got the Cool Tattoo
Not everybody is an artist. That is why we pay others to draw and paint things for us. In this case, the person who got the tattoo was trying to express something with the design he or she submitted to the artist.
Honestly, I am not sure what was trying to be expressed. Fortunately, the tattoo artist in this case was a creative sort. He or she also managed to produce a very lovely tattoo. The person who was tattooed, apparently, was also quite pleased with the end result.
10. The Person With the Pet Fish
Pets are great, and everyone should have one. In the United States, almost 70 percent of households own a pet.
Dogs are one of the most popular pets. People in the United States own—all together—almost 90 million dogs.
Dogs, though, can be a royal pain in the butt. They require regular and frequent walks, a ton of attention, and a whole lot of food. Even small dogs require a lot more food than one would think, really. A tiny terrier would eat pounds of food if you let it.
This image seems to suggest that a person would have really enjoyed owning a dog, but simply could not own one for whatever reason. I am sure, however, that his or her fish enjoyed the walk. Even pet fish need a bit of attention.
Freshwater fish, by the way, are one of the most popular “pets” in the United States of America.
11. The Person Who Turned a Doll Into Something a Lot More Useful
Dolls outlive their usefulness after a while. If you’re not a small child or the parent of one, dolls generally do not serve much of a purpose.
Dolls are also kind of creepy. If you have ever watched a “Child’s Play” movie, you know what I mean. Serial killers clearly like to possess dolls and then commit horrific crimes.
Apparently, though, dolls can be turned into wine glasses, which is a terrific use for them. Is drinking out of a doll’s head a bit creepy? I suppose so, but the glass is also quite the conversation starter. I’m not sure I would want to have a conversation with the person who first came up with this idea, but it is still cool.
12. The Guy With This Hair
Being a guy is not always what it is cracked up to be. Once you hit thirty, you start to grow hair in places you don’t want it to grow; you also start to lose hair in the one place you definitely want it to stay—the top of your head. Aging, in general, kind of stinks. Being bald, however, is the worst.
The guy in this image definitely made a statement with his unique hairstyle. I would not say it is the best look in the world, but it is definitely a lot cooler than the alternative. He also didn’t buy a cheap toupee, which is definitely a classy move on his part. He is a bold human being, and he should be applauded for turning lemons into lemonade.
13. The Guy Playing Video Games While Bathing
If you love video games as much as most of us do, having to take the time out to make sure you do not smell like death is a bit of a chore. Who cares what you smell like when there are fictional kingdoms that absolutely need to be saved as soon as possible?
The guy in the image had the positively brilliant idea to Facetime his video game console so that he could play a game while bathing—which is genius. I am not sure it is a safe move, honestly, but he probably had the best bath ever. Video games are a great way of passing the time.
14. The Lady Who Drank In Line
There are rules in the United States about how much liquid you can carry when boarding a flight. It is also a shame when you have to pour your booze out because of those seemingly arbitrary rules. If you decide to spend your hard-earned money on vodka, you should be able to drink that vodka.
The woman in this image apparently was not happy that she could not bring her vodka with her on her flight, so she decided to drink it all before she boarded. The Transportation Security Administration was not amused by her choice.
The people to whom she offered hard liquor early in the morning were probably very amused. You have to wonder how many people took her up on her offer. Considering they were all in an airport before eight in the morning, I’m guessing a lot of people were happy for a shot or two.
