Since GoT ended, we just cannot help it but go back to the show in many various ways! It just feels as if it was not enough! We need to soak up more of everything related to what is definitely one of the best TV series ever produced! One curious way to satisfy everyone’s GoT cravings is to dive behind the scenes and take a look at the locations the producers used for filming. This is a really curious trip and if gives a whole new outlook on the show!
Croatia is an amazing country with many historic sites and amazing nature, which made it perfect to be featured on GoT. Trsteno Arboretum is such a place and you can see how it really looks like.

This place is a different location in Croatia and you can see why they chose it! It looks really suitable for such a TV show. The place is in Split and it looks even better in real life.

Well, it turned out that the raw beauty of this waterfall was not the result of the effort of a CGI team of professionals in their line of work. It is a real place that is definitely worth the visit. Skogafoss is located in Iceland.
10. Here is one slightly different scenery from Dubrovnik
As you can see, the producers left a huge part of the town’s architecture untouched but they added a few touches to make it look bigger, and we would have never known this if we didn’t see this comparison here.
The Meqite Square in Mdina was perfect for King’s Landing! As you can see, they left the place pretty much as it was, and there were no real changes needed, actually! The scene was amazing to see, too!
12. Dubrovnik really is a unique place
We have actually never been to Dubrovnik and it appears that ii will be on tip our wish list after seeing these images! The place looks as if it was created by digital artists but they only added tiny details to it

This is one scene we remember well! The place is not another Croatian marvel, but a location much above it! The scene was filmed in the Carnlough Harbour are in Northern Ireland.

We are more than certain that the crew fell in love with the country, and everyone would! It has so much to offer in terms of tourist destinations, and you can see some of these locations, too.

We like the fact that the producers chose places that are real instead of making everything using CGI or other special effects.

Croatia is not a big country but it is full of places where you can feast your eyes on amazing historic sites and beautiful nature! Bragging about being at a GoT film locations is also a nice little detail, right?

This is a place in the town of Girona in Spain, and it looks dreamy! We wish we could teleport there immediately but we simply cannot!
19. This is another angle of the Klis Fortress in Croatia
Imagine what it would be like to live in a town such as Split! It is a popular tourist destination and it is full of beautiful places to see, such as this fortress, not to mention the climate they have there!
Be hold, the magnificent Winterfell! As much as we hate to admit it, we hoped that this was a real place, and at least a part of it is! You can see just how different it looks in real life, but it is still an existent location!
21. San Telmo, Spain
Now this looks like a place worth spending a day at! Playa de Itzurun is an amazing place and you can see that they it was featured in the movie showed a huge part of its real beauty! You don’t need CGI here.

It is curious to see the various filming locations in person because you can compare them with the way they appear on the screen. In this case, they added quite a bit of details!

You can see that Croatia is definitely the place to be this summer! Considering just how many parts of the country were featured in GoT, you would need at least a week to seem them all, if not more!
24. They restored this scenery to match the time set in the series
We guess that removing these houses or simply changing their facades to match the wall would be a really nice touch, and the scene featured in in GoT suggests one way to do it! It would be costly but well worth it!
25. The Dubrovnik harbor is an amazing place
Seeing this made us realize that some of the most important and beautiful scenes were not generated in a studio or by using some kind of special effects, and this really adds value to everything we have seen on the show so far!
This is another comparison image showing the beauty of Playa de itzurun. The beach looks awesome and it is definitely the perfect place for a walk! The cast of the series probably had a lot of fun travelling and discovering new places around the world.
27. Northern Ireland
The country has proven to be an amazing film location, because it offers breathtaking view that cannot be found anywhere else in the world! As you can see, the .Kingsroad’, also known as the Dark Hedges, is a real place and we get goosebumps only by looking at the photo. It is easy to tell that it looks better in real life, too!
Walking here would take your breath away regardless if you are a GoT fan or not!

It looks like nothing much, but these seemingly insignificant scenes are of great importance to the whole production, so the producers chose every location with a lot of caution, and they made no wring choices when it comes to Croatia or Northern Ireland!
