There’s the possibility that a few of our readers have never even heard of Croatia, which is a country in southeast Europe, and it is located on the Adriatic Sea. Even if you have heard of it, it is unlikely you know very much about one of the world’s most popular tourism destinations. It really is a fascinating country, and it has one of the highest standards of living in the world.
Well, if you weren’t interested in learning Croatia before, you’re about to become very interested. Why? Well, take a look at Croatia’s President!
Since 2015, Croatia has had (arguably the most attractive President currently gracing this planet. Generally, heads of state don’t look so good. Although from what we hear, a lot of people around the world find Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, to be a very handsome man. Apparently he’s very popular on social media.
Also, Cleopatra—the late Queen of Egypt—was supposed to be quite attractive; however, she hasn’t been around in about 2,000 years or so.
The President of Croatia’s name is Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović; she is the first woman President of Croatia, and she is also the youngest person ever elected by the nation. Before being elected to the presidency at the relatively young age of 46, she held several diplomatic and governmental roles. For example, she was the ambassador to the United States from 2008 until 2011.
In 2017, she was named by Forbes Magazine as the 39th most powerful woman in the world.
I know what many of you are thinking: “okay, the President of Croatia is definitely a lovely woman in addition to being extremely successful and probably immensely intelligent, but how is this news?”
Because there are fake pictures of her in a bikini being circulated around the internet—that’s why! Not everyone is aware that the photos, which went viral early this year, aren’t actually of the President of Croatia.
One user on Twitter, having seen the pictures, wondered where the Croatian embassy is, and another wished to be a Croatian citizen.
The pictures, a few of which you’ll see below, are apparently photos of a model named Coco Austin, who is the wife of Ice-T, the rapper. They were taken while the now 36-year-old Austin was on vacation with Ice-T way back in 2009. She and her husband live in New Jersey, not in southeast Europe.
To be fair, the president and Austin do look a fair amount alike. Here’s a picture of Austin:
If Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, a married woman who is also the mother of two children, wanted to frolic on a beach wearing a bikini, that would be her right. Unfortunately for those social media users who have apparently developed a crush on one of the most powerful women on Earth, however, there don’t seem to be any genuine pictures of her looking at all un-presidential.
There is also a picture out there that is apparently not of the President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. Another case of mistaken identity.
Even if the bikini pictures were of Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, she should probably be admired for a lot more than her looks. As mentioned above, she is the first female president of Croatia, and she used to be an ambassador to Washington. She has also worked for the Ministry of Science and Technology and would go on to become the country’s Minister of European Integration, which means she is at least partially responsible for Croatia joining the European Union (EU). She was also an assistant to NATO’s secretary general. She speaks four languages, including English and Spanish. She also studied in the United States at George Washington University and Harvard University. She was also a visiting scholar at Johns Hopkins University. She’s even pursuing a doctorate.
All of those accomplishments, and now she’s most famous outside of Croatia for fake bikini pictures. You really have to wonder what that says about society, don’t you?
People should probably be a fan of Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović for her stated goal of making Croatia a rich state; while the country is developed and the standard of living is considered high, it does have its problems. For example, in February of last year, the unemployment rate was over 15 percent. Still, considering the Croatian War of Independence only ended in 1995, the country has come a long way.
Will the president of Croatia ever pose for pictures in a bikini, and if so will the internet ever see those pictures? Apparently only time will tell.
For now, we’ll have to content ourselves with the fact that Croatia seems to be in good hands.
In case you’re curious, other world leaders considered by social media to be extremely attractive include the aforementioned Prime Minister of Canada, Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras, and Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, who is just 37 years of age.
