In 2007 a couple from New Zealand was banned from naming their kid “4real”, so they chose to name the baby “Superman” instead.
George Garratt probably read about this case somewhere because in 2008, when he was only 19 years old, he changed his name to Captain Fantastic. Actually, his full name is “Captain Fantastic Faster Than Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine Hulk And The Flash Combined”, but I’m sure he’ll respond to Captain Fantastic.
George, who’s from Glastonbury, UK wanted a unique name and decided to choose from a theme of superheroes. The change cost him only $16 and was done by an online deed poll. The change is considered fully legal. His extraordinary new name granted him a spot in the list of unusually long names.
Captain Fantastic told the press he finds his new name crazy, although his grandmother refused to speak to him after she learned what he did. Well, can you really blame the old lady?
