Amber Heard has been granted a restraining order against her estranged husband Johnny Depp and has filed for a divorce.
Depp and Heard met back in 2011 when they were filming The Rum Diary and got married in February 2015. Over the past year the duo has experienced quite the troubles (including that nasty case with the Australian government and the smuggling of their pet dogs across Australia’s borders) and now it seems like Heard can’t take any more of it. According to official reports, the 30 year old Amber has filed for a divorce and has even obtained a restraining order against her husband. The reports state that there have been several counts of domestic violence and that Depp has been physically assaulting his wife. Heard allegedly presented photographic proof and eye-witnesses as evidence in court earlier this May before she was granted the restraining order.
The 30 year old is now trying to secure a solid financial support after the divorce, because the couple never made a pre-nuptial agreement prior to their marriage. Amber’s alleged $9 million net worth is nothing compared to her husband’s $400 million and the actress’ lawyers are trying to squeeze a spousal support for her. Heard has stated that during the one year throughout she was married to Johnny Depp he has physically, verbally and emotionally abused her on numerous occasions and has caused her severe stress and injuries. Depp’s representatives and lawyers are refusing to comment on the allegations and to confirm or deny anything at this point.
The reports state that Depp and Heard officially split between the 20th of May, when Johnny’s mother passed away, and the 23rd of May, when Heard filed the divorce documents.
