Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the most popular and adored by fans personas in the entertainment industry today.
Dwayne is from African-Canadian and Samoan descent and has many talents that he developed even further throughout his career. He’s currently a semi-retired professional wrestler who is still actively engaged with the WWE as well as an actor and a businessman.
Johnson began his lustrous career as an aspiring athlete and a football player. He even enrolled in the University of Miami with a full scholarship but was later sidelined from the football team due to a shoulder injury. He graduated from the university with a degree in physiology and criminology. Later, after his unsuccessful attempt to become a professional NFL player, Johnson decided to follow his father’s footsteps and become a wrestler.
Many believe that his first on-screen performance was his role in the 2002 movie “The Scorpion King” for which he earned $5.5 million and a Guinness world record for Highest paid acting debut. Actually Dwayne first appeared on the TV screen back in 1998. He played his own father Rocky Johnson in episode 15 of season 1 of the hit TV series “That’s 70s Show” where he starred along Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.
