Have you ever actually took the time to read the ingredients that are in your favorite syrups sold in the store? If you have than, you know, the maple syrup you’ve been buying is probably fake. Most of them are packed full of high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors and artificial colors, pretty much nothing but poison.

Most people know that maple syrup is make from maple sap that comes from maple trees. The World’s Healthiest Foods says

“the sap is clear and almost tasteless and very low in sugar content when it is first tapped. It is then boiled to evaporate the water producing syrup with the characteristic flavor and color of maple syrup and sugar content of 60%.”


Big Food has unfortunately taken over a yummy treat such as maple syrup and has become corrupted causing most of the syrups made today to be totally fake.
If you go to the grocery store and talk a walk down the aisle that contains syrup, you’ll see many of the different brands are called “syrup”, “table syrup” or maple-flavored syrup”. The reasoning behind those names is that only 100% real maple syrup can truly be called “maple syrup”.
There are two grades of maple syrup; Grade A and Grade B, people think that Grade B is more rich in nutrients. Also, it has a more defined flavor to it. Starting this year there will only be Grade A syrup with 4 different colors.
Are you aware at how many different kinds of syrups there are at the store? In one of my local grocery stores there are over 40 different bottles to choose from. About 30 of those choices are fake maple syrup while only about 10 are real.

The fake syrup is cheaper than real syrup which is to be expected. Fake maple syrup is made using genetically modified corn products and tons of cheap chemicals. That is the reason they make it in the first place, it is cheaper to make meaning the companies make more of a profit.

High fructose corn syrup and corn syrup which is most likely made from GMO corn. Caramel coloring, that has nothing do with caramel you’d make in your kitchen and has been linked to cancer. Sodium benzoate is a preservative that has been linked to adhd, asthma and other things.

There is no high fructose corn syrup but, there is regular corn syrup, caramel coloring, toxic preservatives and phosphoric acid which had been linked to kidney trouble and fractures in the bones.
This one is even worse. It comes in an opaque bottle, many real maple syrups are also sold in these types of containers. Look, no high fructose corn syrup.

If you think pancake houses use real maple syrup, think again.

Next time you’re there, just ask the person serving you if it is real maple syrup. Chances are they will be confused and if you ask to read the bottle, it will prove to be fake.
Sure, real maple syrup is more expensive than the fake kind but, you won’t go through a bottle as quickly because the maple syrup tastes so awesome. Real maple syrup also has nutrients in it. They could help your body. It is a good source of manganese and zinc. There are also plenty of minerals in it.
