The movie was a huge success and made a huge financial success grossing $821 million at the global box office. The movie was also nominated at the Oscars for Best Visual Effects which were actually amazing in 2002.  CGI technology was mainly used to depict Spiderman’s stunts, but not always. Hopefully you remember that scene in which Peter Parker is at the high-school cafeteria when his crush Mary Jane walks in and trips with her tray of food. In that particular scene Peter Parker uses his spidey powers and catches her and her food the same time. It’s good to know that no special effects were used at the time. Tobey Maguire performed the scene on his own using only his technique.
