A doctor from Oklahoma, who happens to be married, is in trouble with the law. He allegedly journeyed to Florida in order to have an intimate encounter with a 15-year-old girl.
The doctor’s name is Angelo Trigoso-Jara, and he is 27-years-old. He is from Oklahoma City. He was arrested last week at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport.
According to investigators, three months ago he traveled roughly 1,300 miles in order to have sexual relations with a teenage girl. The alleged encounter occurred at a hotel in Venice, Florida.
On February 26, the girl’s mother contacted authorities in the Sarasota County Sheriff’s office. She made her suspicions of the girl’s relationship with Angelo known to the detectives.
The girl was interviewed by law enforcement, and she revealed that she met Angelo via a website that allows strangers to connect anonymously using text and video.

The girl apparently told Angelo that she was only 15 years old; he purportedly lied, claiming to be 23 years old.

As stated by a probable cause affidavit, Angelo and the girl conversed for many hours using Snapchat; they eventually agreed to meet up in person.

On January 19, at about one in the morning, Angelo allegedly picked up the girl at her residence in Clearwater, Florida. He drove the teenager to a hotel in Venice. According to an affidavit, the two had sexual relations.
In the days that would follow, the two remained in contact. According to a press release put out by the sheriff’s office, Angelo would continue to communicate with the victim using social media. He also sent her pictures and videos of his genitals.
Detectives working with a United States Marshals Task Force as well as United States Customs tracked Angelo down. That’s when they arrested him while he was at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport. He was reportedly passing through.

The 27-year old man ended up in Arlington City Jail. He was charged with several crimes, including solicitation of a child using a computer, traveling to meet a minor to engage in a sex act, and lewd or lascivious battery of a person under the age of sixteen.
Angelo is being held without bond. He will soon be extradited to Sarasota County. Additional charges are reportedly pending, and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
According to social media posts, Angelo married another medical student back in 2013. According to one of his social media profiles, he graduated in 2013 from the University of Central Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology. He then enrolled at the college of medicine at the University of Oklahoma.
He is apparently listed in the state of Oklahoma’s Academy of Family Physicians.
It is not known at this time if Angelo has any representation. It does not seem as if he has entered a plea yet.
As mentioned above, Angelo may have met the underage victim using the popular multimedia messaging app Snapchat. Over 187 million people use the app on a daily basis, and it is most popular in North America and Europe. It was first released six years ago—in September of 2011. One of the main concepts of the app was that messages and pictures were only available for a limited amount of time before becoming inaccessible.
By late November of 2012, over one billion photos had been shared using Snapchat’s iOS app. An Android app was released in October of 2012.
By 2015, users were actually sending each other billions of videos on a daily basis. By 2016, 10 billion videos were being viewed every single day. That year, it was reported that Snapchat had about 10 million daily users in the United Kingdom.
Snapchat Inc. was renamed Snap Inc. back in September of 2016. It was at that time that the company introduced Spectacles, its first hardware gadget. They are “smartglasses” with a camera built in. They were made available for purchase in February of 2017 and record 10 seconds of video at a time.
