August Ames (real name Mercedes Grabowski) is a Canadian adult movie performer. She was born on August 23, 1994 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada and grew up in California. She had Polish and Afro-American descent.

As a teenager she used to work as a nanny, bartender and yoga instructor. She joined the industry in 2013 and worked for big companies like Wicked Pictures and many others. She have more than 250 scenes in her professional career. She was one of the most popular start on the Internet. Her videos are watched more than 415 million times.
She received two awards for Best New Starlet at the 2015 AVN and for female performer in 2017. She was nominated for the 2018 awards which will take place in January.
A couple days ago she started an online discussion on twitter and received a lot of criticism. She just shared her thoughts and opinion about her professional life and health, but people started to criticise her.

After that tweet the whole industry was in shock and a couple other performers accused her of being homophobic.

In other tweets a lot of people asked her to apologize or to commit suicide, but she denied being homophobic and said that there is nothing to apologize for, because she was just looking after her health.
Two days later after receiving the backlash she was found dead in Camarillo, CA. Her friends shared that she was suffering from online bullying and depression, because of all the people accusing her of being homophobic on Twitter.
According to Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office her death was ruled a suicide due to hanging. Unfortunately other details about her death are not available at the moment.
More than 11K people liked her last tweet on Dec 4, 4.00 PM, but nobody realized it will be her final one.

The whole world was in shock upon of her tragic death. Her husband said that she was the nicest person he ever knew and she meant the world to him.

Some of the biggest producers and actors in the industry posted updates on their official profiles supporting her family. They said that they are really sorry for their loss and they will miss her. Also that she was a true professional and it was pleasure working with her.
