Ken Jeong added a little inside jokes into the Hangover movie to make his wife (who was battling BREAST cancer) laugh

Kendrick Kang-Joh “Ken” Jeong is best known for his role as Leslie Chow in The Hangover trilogy. He married his wife Tran Ho in 2004 and is happily married since. They do have two beautiful children.

When Ken was offered the Leslie Chow role his wife found out that she has a stage 3 progressive breast cancer. Ken was about to refuse the offer and start taking care of Tran, but she convinced him that the role is really important and they really needed the money, so he accepted the offer. Despite the money both of them would start thinking about something else which can be the key part of battling the decease.

Getting a breast cancer was maybe one of the most devastating things that could happen to Tran. In an interview she said “Ken was so strong for me. When the opportunity for The Hangover came, Ken was worried if he could deal with this while I was battling breast cancer, but I told him it would be better for both of us”.

Actually, the real reason for Ken Jeong to take the role was to make his wife laugh because laughing was the best medicine and not only for her but for him as well. He added a couple little inside jokes (only they could understand) in the movie, so his wife could laugh more when watching it.

After The hangover was released, at the MTV Movie Awards, Ken got his golden trophy and said trough tears that his wife was 2 years cancer-free. He also admitted she was inspiring him during the making of the movie.

Well, now we can understand how good actor he really is and what he went through while he was doing the funny scenes. We can just admire him, his wife and wish love and happiness to the entire family.
