We all have our favorite actors and actresses and some of them are everyone’s favorite. This is often due to their life’s greatest work – a role that they became recognizable for. Such roles can never be topped and the actors are defined by them.
1. Jim Parsons
All Big Bang Theory fans would agree that the strongest character in the show was Sheldon Cooper. The talented Jim Parsons is the only one who could ever play Sheldon and the casting of the show was as brilliant as possible.
2. Jon Hamm
The charismatic actor has a number of great roles but we believe everyone would agree that his best work was impersonating Don Draper. This role fits him like a glove and we can’t imagine him as someone else.
3. Robert Pattinson
The actor has been part of quite different productions but one of his roles is what he will be remembered for the most. Edward Cullen is his best role yet and it was like it was tailor-made for him.
4. Ashton Kutcher
Admit it – whenever you see Ashton, you remember him as Michael Kelso. The slightly absurd but incredibly funny That ’70s Show was very funny to watch and Ashton really made a difference.
5. Keanu Reeves
Despite movies like The Matrix and Constantine, the best role Keanu ever played was John Wick and we cannot wait for the latest movie to be shown in theaters. The role is amazing and suits him really well.
6. William Shatner
Most people would immediately relate this name to Star Trek, and for good reason. Captain Kirk was one of the main characters in the TV series and we remember how excited we used to be when we binge-watched it.
7. Heath Ledger
The actor had a relatively short career but he will forever be remembered because of his huge talent and extremely big charisma. The best role he ever did was The Joker, and he is probably even a better Joker than Joaquin Phoenix.
8. Elijah Wood
Frodo Baggins was and will surely continue to be Wood’s strongest on-screen performance. The epic production he was part of will forever remains as one of the biggest Hollywood has ever seen. Frodo was a huge of it, too!
9. Johnny Depp
Captain Jack Sparrow is one of our all-time favorite fictional characters and we believe we don’t have to explain why! The Pirates of the Caribbean was and still is one of our all-time favorite productions and it was a massive success worldwide.
10. Friends
A fact nobody could deny is that Friends is an entire chapter of television as we know it. The show skyrocketed the careers of all six main actors and the characters really defined them after that. We mean, how could someone look at Matt LeBlanc and not see Joey?
11. Kit Harington
Talking about epic TV shows, we need to include Game of Thrones on this list. Sure enough, one of the strongest characters on the show was Jon Snow, and Kit Harington”s career got a huge boost after he took this role.
12. John Krasinski
Jim Halpert is the image behind thousands of funny images based on the frame you see above. This role is undeniably one of the funniest characters one could see in a TV show and we would watch it again over and over.
13. Mark Hamill
Since we mentioned Star Trek, we need to include Star Wars and more particularly, one of the main characters – Luke Skywalker. Except for a cool name, Luke had a great personality that won the hearts of millions of fans. Mark Hamill did a great job and this is the role of his life.
14. Hugh Jackman
All the movies based on comic books proved to be more or less successful and the actors who were part of them all received a career boost. Hugh Jackman is a talented actor and a real macho man but the Wolverine will remain his best role so far.
15. Arnold Schwarzenegger
The life of former California governor Schwarzenegger is awesome and inspiring but one particular part of it is what he is mostly known for around the world. The role of the Terminator is what changed his life for the better.
16. Rupert Grint
The Harry Potter franchise is one of the best things that happened to humanity in the last couple of decades. We believe that most of the people in the world loved the books and the movies, which is why Grint became defined by this role.
17. Emma Watson
It seems that we could not simply mention Ron Weasley without adding Hermione to the list. Emma Watson is an impressive actress with a huge talent and Hermione suited her well.
18. Daniel Radcliffe
Here is the man himself – Radcliffe will forever remain as none other than Harry Potter. He has huge talent but this role will define him for as long as he lives.
19. RDJ
There are roles that were played by the best possible actor and the role of Tony Stark is a great example. Nobody could make it better than RDJ.
20. Robin Williams
You have probably forgotten about this but we always remember the actor’s face when we see The Genie. It was a great role, not just a voiceover.
21. Jack Gleeson
You might say that this was a controversial role but you would be wrong because Joffrey was a key character in GoT and it really introduced the actor in the best possible way.
