Sylvester Stallone is the heart of one of the longest and most beloved movie franchises of all time. The Rocky films are iconic and it’s so cool that they are being brought to a new generation with the Creed movies.
The Rocky movies tell the story of Rocky Balboa over 7 films. The first movie debuted in 1976. How amazing is it that four decades later, we are still watching?
Sylvester Stallone not only starred in the Rocky films, but he also wrote them. He also directed five of them.
Creed was written by Ryan Coogler and Aaron Covington.
Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 in New York City. He is most known for his part in the Rocky movies, and he has had a long career spanning almost 50 years.
The spin-off of the original films, Creed and Creed 2 are continuing the legacy sky started all those years ago with the first film.
Creed 2 is in the works and it has brought Sly back together with his nemesis, Ivan Drago, from ‘Rocky IV.’
Dolph Lundgren played the part of the Soviet Union fighter, Drago, who killed Rocky’s best friend, Apollo Creed. Later, Rocky barely defeats him in 15 grueling rounds.
Stallone talked about the fight on Twitter, citing that he regarded it as “the most exhausting and punishing fight ever put on film.”
The two actors have not worked together as Drago and Rocky since ‘Rocky IV,’ 32 years ago.
‘Rocky IV’ was the fourth film in the Rocky franchise. Rocky reclaimed the championship in the movie, and was set to retire and live happily ever after with his wife Adrian, played by Talia Shire.
An exhibition fight between Apollo and Drago leads to Apollo’s death. Rocky vows to avenge his friend’s death, which results in him flying to Russia to train for a fight on Christmas Day. As mentioned above, it takes 15 grueling rounds, but Rocky Balboa comes out on top. Barely.
Recently, Stallone tweeted about his reunion with Lundgren, referring to working with the “big man” in Creed 2.
Creed 2 is the sequel to the 2015 drama which is a spin off of the Rocky films, which introduced us to a new generation of fighters.
Stallone did pretty much verify that fans of the franchise will see a rematch between Balboa and Drago, over 32 years in the making.
Sylvester Stallone is now 71 years old, but has remained in good shape throughout his life. To see him back in the ring, fighting his old enemy, will definitely be exciting.
Creed 2 stars Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky’s former rival, Apollo Creed. You’ve probably already guessed that he will be intent on getting revenge on Drago for his father’s death.
You have probably seen Michael B. Jordan before. He has starred in many shows and movies. All My Children and Friday Night Lights are two of the shows on his resume. He was born in Santa Ana, California on February 9, 1987.
Rumor has it that Adonis may be fighting the son of Drago in the new film, which would definitely bring things full circle.
Nothing is confirmed as of yet, and the movie is still almost a year away, but it goes without saying that it will be intense to see Drago and Rocky back together.
Lundgren has been documenting his workouts on social media in preparation for filming. He is still looking really fit to be nearly 60 years old. He looks as if he has not aged one bit.
Lundgren is an actor, director, screenwriter, and martial artist who was born in Sweden on November 3, 1957. He holds a masters degree in chemical engineering.
Anticipation for the film, and what is sure to be an epic rematch is high and will only build as we all wait to see what happens.
